Leaving politics aside, what would members look for in a new CEO?

Presence, activity, dynamism, drive, strategic planning, business ( commercial) acumen, commitment

Most of all staying power

No politics, no elitism.

All of the above.

Preferably somebody who doesn't use all these new fangle 'in' phrases such as 'handshakes' when describing a written agreement. Or, we could all go to the AGM and play Bull Sh1t Bingo.

Somebody who builds good working relationships with other bodies, particularly CAA and suchlike, whilst managing in a way that supports the Engineering side of the LAA.

Bill great point forgot the "politically correct" crap, our dear friends at the CAA have had a master class in that, such phrases as :-

Robust
Blue sky thinking
Appropriate

And these gems, "I will take that away with me" and "I will champion that for you at out next meeting"

If anybody can think of some more please post them, it makes for great reading.

Put it in the back gate and see if the dog barks.
Run it up the flagpole and see if it flies.
Glass ceilings.
Going forward.
Lets touch base about that offline.
Cradle to grave approach.
It's on my radar, and I'll be tackling it in my itinerary.
Push it through the pipeline.
Get your ducks in a row.
Coming to the party.

And the very, VERY, VERY, VERY worst.....

We need to drill down into that.....

I need a gin and tonic now.

Long time GA enthusiast with the right commercial background so he will get up and running quickly and push back some of the OTT H&S stuff.

That seems about right.

But do we actually need one?
