Gold for SeaRey Owner Kelly Gallagher

Hi,
I'm sure all fellow LAA members will join in congratulating Kelly Gallagher, winner of Irelands (and GB !) first ever Gold Medal in Winter Olympics.

Kelly is the daughter of the late Patrick Gallagher, LAA Coach, Instructor, Test Pilot and Aircraft builder who was ambushed by cancer in his prime in 2012. He instructed at Newtownards in Northern Ireland and was also CFI at Sligo Light Aviation Club in Ireland.

Kelly has shown extra ordinary dedication, commitment and skill in achieving her goal - as the saying goes "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree".
In her interviews, Kelly acknowledged that she "won it for Dad".

She also added that she will now turn her attention to completion of one of Pats unfulfilled objectives - gaining a Permit to Fly for the SeaRey, G-CREY, he first brought to Europe in 2004.

We have no doubt that Kelly's persistence and profile will bring more success.

Unfortunately Francis has been off work with flu. He has however emailed to say that a Permit to Test will be sent early next week.
Hopefully it won't be too long now before the aircraft is cleared.
