Apologies if this is covered in another thread (I cant find it), but does anyone know what the much heralded announcements are, that were made by ministers / CAA at Sywell on Sunday regarding the easing of the regulatory burden that Light Aircraft pilot owners suffer at the moment - or did they just re-gurgitate the information in https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... nal-report

Hi John, it was ostensibly a re-iteration of the intent to reduce the regulatory burden on GA with a very useful opportunity, after the formal session, for those present to discuss specific issues with the Transport Minister Robert Goodwill, Conservative Party Chairman and champion of the GA Red Tape Challenge Grant Shapps, CAA Chief Exec Andrew Haines and others.

All sound positive Brian. The sooner the mess is sorted out the better, and we can get on with the job of flying and maintaining our aircraft sensibly.
I'm guessing that it will be EASA who dig their heels in over the issues regaring Pre 55 designed aircraft and those where there is no effective Type Certificate holder (EASA), no spares, no support etc - but who knows, with the involvement at Ministerial level we may get a sensble solution.
