The May/Jun 1985 "Popular Flying" article has a three-page article by ARV Chief Designer, Bruce Giddings. Entitled "The Empire Strikes Back", it encapsulates the optimistic hopes then held for the Super2. There is a photo of the roll-out of the still-unfinished prototype, plus an early advert for the Super2:
"125 mph - 800 fpm - all metal - 65% factory-completed aircraft - £14,750 plus VAT - ARV Aviation!"
This price was for the kit; the "Pilot" advert of 1986 quoted £24,000 + VAT for a complete CAA aircraft.

News just in from the USA:
The Opus Super 2 is now FAA certified in the US under the new Special Light Sport category. Even though the Super 2 had been previously certified in the UK, Opus report that they had virtually to start again from scratch. Opus got certification on Super Tuesday; now to be known as "Super Twos Day"!
