Belfast TMA change from Class E to Class D

Post by John Brady » Mon Oct 12, 2015 6:59 pm

Dear Members,

NATS is proposing to change the Belfast TMA from Class E to Class D. You can fly VFR in Class E without clearance but in Class D you always need clearance or some form of special agreement. If this will be a problem for you or if you can give us a view to help develop the LAA response please post on this thread or email us through [email protected] The NATS notice is below with a weblink to the proposal.

John

Dear Airspace User,

You have been identified as a stakeholder for this NATS Airspace Consultation regarding the proposed change in classification of the Belfast TMA from Class E to Class D.

This consultation runs from Friday 9th October 2015 until Monday 14th December, a period of nine weeks and two days.

Please read the attached consultation material (only seven main pages, plus maps and appendices) and reply to this email with your response, preferably using the template at the bottom of this email.
ere is a GA Forum planned for Thursday 5th November at which Belfast Aldergrove and Belfast City air traffic control representatives will be available to discuss this proposal. Please see the consultation document for venue details, and for how to book a place.

Kind regards

The NATS Airspace Change Consultation Team

The depiction of the airspace there has been an unreadable mess for years.
