Maps
This year's RV fly-out in May is to Croatia, and I'll be continuing to Montenegro. So I'll need maps for France, Germany, Austria, Italy, possibly Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, and Montenegro. (Slovenia and Montenegro could be printed off from SkyDemon as only a small area of these will be visited.)
Any ideas how to get these at reasonably cost, and where to get them now that Jeppersen have stopped paper maps. I've used 1m maps, but although they are ok for general flight planning, they are no good for navigation.

Hi John,
Have a look at Mr Mundy's shop at Lelystad http://www.pilotshop.nl/contents/en-us/ ... harts.html
He delivers to the UK regularly for a reasonable cost.

Re: Maps
I'm curious - if you've got Sky Demon, why do you need to purchase extra charts for those countries? They use official data from each country.
Having said that, I haven't used Rocket Route recently, but at 79p each, these 1/250 charts look a bit of a bargain:

and SMATSA looks a good source for Serbia/Montenegro:

I suppose it comes down to whether or not you are prepared to totally trust a tablet. Personally I would not fly without a paper chart - they don't pack up and they give a far better quick reference to the region you are operating in should you need to divert.I'm curious - if you've got Sky Demon, why do you need to purchase extra charts for those countries? Re: Maps
I agree, but I tend to plan my SD route, print it out on paper, then I've got it on my iPad, back-up is the hard copy and an iPhone.
As I said, just curious.

Re: Maps
Call me cautious, but I like to have hard copies of a much wider area than just the SD route. Also, I'm not certain of the exact routing there or back, might be north or south of the Alps. And it's hard to print off maps when down route.
