Just received from the Fishburn Airfield team:
Yesterday afternoon (26 July) the application to site a wind turbine on the downwind leg directly in the flightpath for Fishburn Airfield was heard by Durham County Council Planning Committee.
Everyone has been worried about the impact a successful application would have on airfield safety and the future of Fishburn Airfield.
We are pleased to be able to report that the application was rejected unanimously by the committee on safety grounds and the uncertainty is over. It is highly unlikely an appeal will be successful under the circumstances and given the strength of opposition and current government guidance.
We hope we can now put the anxiety behind us and move on.
