Documents to be carried.

Post by C Rule » Thu Aug 25, 2016 11:18 am

In the light of the new ANO coming into effect , please can someone let me know what documents needed to be carried in a permit A/C on a internal UK flight.
Thanks
Colin

None. ANO 2016 Schedule 10 contains the document carriage requirements. From summary here for non-EASA aircraft:

http://www.caa.co.uk/Blog-Posts/The-rev ... ion-Order/
Schedule 10 covers document carriage requirements. For non-EASA aircraft on operations other than public transport, there are no document carriage requirements within the UK. A list has been included for those flying outside the UK.

Jon
Many thanks for that pointer. I thought that was the case but could not confirm under ANO 2016

Never really seen the logic in carrying original documents, as per the regulations, when flying anywhere.
1: they take up valuable weight
2: If you crash and burn the evidence has gone up in smoke.

Martin, I wish you hadn't mentioned point 2, they'll come up with an amendment stating that all appropriate aircraft will have to carry a flameproof and crash proof safe.

Even the definition of "original document" is surely a bit vague though I've no doubt it's defined somewhere. I've never had an "original" insurance certificate. I've only had emailed certificates which I print myself at home. So, is my printout an original document or a copy?

I don't bother with the will - just my solicitor's business card. Less weight...

Given the price of Avgas and landings I've taken to carrying a backup credit card.

I was looking at the CAA site - sort of working out what was needed / what I thought might be prudent to carry. Got to interception procedures requirement and on reading it discovered to my surprise that some of the responses require

1. Lowering undercarriage
2. Flashing Lights

Now I guess the average Military Jet pilot is not necessarily going to realise that my humble Cessna 120 is somewhat deficient in the retractable gear and lighting departments.

I wonder what the correct response is that says - No way am I landing my tail dragger there in this crosswind.
