I flew as a passenger in an An-2 once - a DOSAAF one operating out of Kaluga air base SW of Moscow. It had just come off a rebuild and was immaculate.
Wow - was it slow. I have many years of experience with DC-3s (with Air Atlantique) including a transatlantic trip so I'm used to slow - but then there's An-2 slow
If you are talking about flying across Africa in an An-2, I take my hat of to you. Like the DC-3 (and Li-2!) the An-2 was built to last, so the aircraft should make it if the fabric's OK - it's just the sticking power of the crew
