I'm sure that glass panels are something of a challenge to many of us. Info on a free book that offers advice has recently been sent to me, I know no more about it but it is worth a look if you are considering installing a glass cockpit. It is primarily for those fitting Garmin G3X Touch but may well have some good info that is more generic.
I'd be interested in feedback from anybody reading the book.

Description
A practical guide to use the Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit in light aircraft. It supplements the Garmin manual by giving the point of view of a pilot with a low number of hours who was initially trained using “steam gauges”.
The guide also provides some advice on how to configure the panel of a light aircraft. Finally it offers screen shots of all the glass cockpit set-up and display pages.

Steam Gauges ?.... :evil: ........ Oh, you mean 'conventional instrumentation' .

An interesting book I'm sure , but I don't have any current plans to down-grade just yet.... :lol:

Don't forget that since about 2011-12'ish the CAA now requires you to undergo 'Difference training' for glass cockpit instrumentation so worry not about any transition issues. It will soon become second nature the same as the six pack did.

So , is that a bit like the Vauxhall Viva with the 'new style' horizontal red tape speedo ?
Or the Triumph Herald with the old style " steam driven" one ?

Nought new in't world is there ? ... :lol:

A mixture of both is possible.

Traditional 6 pack with low oil pressure warning lamp and traditional rev counter alows anyone to legally fly without the EFIS
MGL Enigma to provide all engine monitoring, with addition of primary flight instruments, moving map gps, GPS derived VOR and ILS..........
