Fun: Urban Air Samba at Popham - engine stopped - caption?
Another fun fly-in at Popham last week-end. A very impressive turn out by intrepid aviators, considering the forecast winds.
As usual I was pointing my camera at the arrivals, and I was amused when the Czech-registered Samba landed - presumably on a demo flight - and the big cooling fan at the front stopped turning.

The pilot looks a tad irritated - but what is the gentleman in the RH seat saying?

Actually, I know the 2 guys that fly that Samba. It is based in the hanger next to mine. They are 2 really nice Irish chaps.
The prop stopping is intentional, he does it after almost every landing. He is used to flying from very short strips and the brakes on the Samba are terrible. He likes to give himself every advantage of stopping so switches off the engine after landing.
