Biggin Hill Instrument Approach Runway 03

Post by paulbh » Mon May 29, 2017 10:04 am

Here is the link to the Biggin Hill Airport’s Post-Consultation Report about plans to introduce an Instrument Approach Procedure to Runway 03.

https://www.bigginhillairport.com/wp-co ... Report.pdf

Note the comment on page 2 The low response from the consultee stakeholders in the aviation community was disappointing. In total 10 of the formal aviation consultee stakeholders (on-Airport, off-Airport and NATMAC Civil) responded with varying degrees of support or concern about the proposal. If Biggin Hill get their way, we the GA community will only have ourselves to blame

Seems like a very arrogant stance being taken by Biggin Hill about this. They statement about safety of mixing IFR heads down heavy metal traffic and VFR GA along a narrow corridor will be managed by "Good Airmanship " beggars belief !

They haven't quantified how many a/c currently use this corridor so how do they know the risks ?
