Bringing in a new aircraft

Post by Spackrackman » Mon Aug 21, 2017 9:08 pm

Hi all,

I am wanting to bring in a new aircraft that has yet to exist on our shores, has anyone on here done this? Is it a costly process? The aircraft appears to exist throughout the rest of the world and typically not in the UK. Its a Shock Cub by Zlin aviation, I guess its similar to the Just Superstol but with a tandom seating configuration.
I am going to email the LAA powers to be later and start the ball rolling but thought I would see what more experienced folk think to the whole process!

Many thanks
Jonnie

That's nice.
Good useful load as well.
I wish you all the best with getting the type in with the LAA.
Keep us posted as to how it goes.

A lot depends on how much proof of compliance with a standard has been done, and if they are willing to share that info with LAA engineering. Usual standards are CS-VLA or CS-23. Full compliance is not always necessary, but any deviation must be justified.
