NPPL SSEA and SLMG deadline for conversion to EASA

Post by Cookie » Sat Feb 24, 2018 8:07 am

LAA will endeavour to process all NPPL applications as quickly as possible in the lead up to the 08th April 2018. This date currently represents the date a pilot must hold a NPPL(A) with SSEA or SLMG rating in order to take advantage of conversion to Part-FCL licences as detailed in CAP 804 Section 4 Part P.

Due to the Easter Bank Holiday, and the 08th April falling on a Sunday, may I strongly recommend that applicants use 08th March 2018 as your deadline for arrival of paperwork at LAA HQ. Any later date may mean that any error in your application cannot be reviewed and rectified in time.

Excuse my ignorance here, I have been an inactive flyer for the last 5 years.

Can you confirm that this conversion cut off date only means that you need an EASA license to fly an EASA aircraft.

Can you can convert later if you get the whim to fly granny in a C150?
