LAPL Cabri G2

Post by Morty » Thu Nov 22, 2018 12:14 am

Hello
I started my class 2 medical journey today and was advised I would find it hard to pass as I have too many medical problems at 58 years i.e type 2 diabetes on Insulin.

My dream is to fly, yes I know I'm a late starter but I didn't have the finances when I was 16! I would like to fly a Cabri G2 Helicopter, can anyone advise if this is possible on an LAPL?

If it's not then I will go fixed wing somehow.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best
Mark

Not sure where you live but would be worth calling these people at Kemble in Gloucestershire.
Cotswold Helicopter Centre
Cotswold Helicopter Centre encompasses the parent companies Cotswold Helicopters Ltd, HH Helicopters Ltd and European Helicopter Importers Ltd who between them hold an AOC, have FTO approval and operate a fleet of 7 helicopters consisting of Cabri G2, R44, B206, AS355 & A109's along with an Elite FNPT2 simulator
Tel: 01285 770740
Website: www.flychc.com

Best of luck
Gerry

BTW. Check if you can Self Certify a Medical with CAA. If you can drive with Type 2 it may well be OK to fly. Does limit you to UK. I have LAPL(Aircraft) with this arrangement for heart issues in past.
