CAA Medical Self Declaration
Hi, over the last year I have gained my NPPL and did so on with the support of my LAPL Medical cert which I have for my gliding activities (LAPL(S)). This expires soon and, as I am thinking of giving up gliding in favour of flying microlight aircraft, I set forth to self declare on the CAA website. I now have a tracking number for my application and a reference number but I cannot find any information at all on the CAA website regarding what happens next. Do I get a certificate through the post! Does it cost anything? How long should it take? Has anybody else been through this “service” and come out the other side? I would very much appreciate some clarification. Thanks

Re: CAA Medical Self Declaration
You should have received a confirmation email from the CAA. Print off the copy they sent you. That's it. It should have a ref number on it. Put it in your license folder and declare your own fitness to fly to yourself everytime you want to aviate.

Many thanks - why the CAA website does not make this clear I cannot guess!
