I suspect you are not alone in that, Mike

It's good to be back. We need a forum or two when the grass is still so soggy.

Merry Christmas all.

Even though this is a pretty quiet forum , you do kind of miss it when it's not here .

Also want to see if my thumbnail pic. is still in the top RH corner .. :D

Edit: Yes it is . [ OK , I'm a saddo]

Finally unravelled a persistent 'page not found', following the mail from the LAA that out forum had been cleansed.
Congratulations to the person/team who, I'm sure, amongst many pressing priotities have made the time and expended effort to get this blackboard running again.

Pity I can't say the same about the airfield today it's just streaming !

Not had a chance to check everything out on the Forum yet, but glad to see the glitch that stopped me updating to a new avatar has been fixed.

We had to take the Forum offline for a week or so, as we identified that the old system's software did not meet our security requirements and it could have potentially made us vulnerable to hacking. The forum may look the same, but its now running on a new, more secure, platform.

Our software contractors have done a great job in getting things back online before everybody finished for Christmas. There's still a bit of fine tuning to do, but we're deferring this till after the Christmas break - and we'll pass on your comments to them as part of that process.

Thanks for the background story Steve,

I'm pleased to note that one improvement is getting an e-mailed notification of traffic on the forum.

Somehow just before the very recent deluges, the Luscombe Silvaire that arrived in pieces earlier in the year managed a brief first post rebuild flight early December.

Congratulations to the pilot/owner here who did it largely unaided & at a very basic sod strip.

The "Training" topic on the Forum states:

"LAA have organised Training Days for our members. If you are interested, please register with HQ. See our website section Training for more information".

As far as I can see, there is no "Training" section on the web site. Please could this be changed to refer to the "Coaching" section?

I will be requesting various changes to the Coaching section to make it easier to find things once I get more settled into the role of National Coach.
