Hi Cirrus, or should that be el-lo stratus, we do seem to be having delivery problems at the moment. The magazine was finished printing on Thursday, so should have been mailed Friday latest and possibly got to some members on Saturday and the vast majority today. My post has been and I haven't had my member copy either. I have spoken to IMAX this morning and they are checking with the mailing house.
If it pees you off when it doesn't get to you on time, think what it does to me after I've got it to the printer on time and then it's delayed by others farther along the production/mailing system!

Gents
Brian and I are getting as fed up as you with the situation. We are looking at other options at the moment.

I havnt had my mag yet but Brian and co are doing their best and when it comes it will be well worth it.
Lets not cut off the hand that feeds us our monthly fix, we are lucky that we are all part of an organisation which is able to produce such an informative and interesting read every month.
Keep up the good work Brian.

Fine words but the LAA is meant to be more than the PFA.

I hope we are returning some invoices for cancellation.

Hmm?? Ok i see your point but there must be bigger issues in the world of General Aviation than a late magazine??
Im confident that Brian will sort out these teething problems by the April issue.

Still no mag!

There is a better way. If you post the mag on the web, in a member’s only area I would have got access to it a week ago. The LAA would save on the postage (if not the printing). If 1000 members signed up to this the postage saving would go a long way to reduce the subsidy from the membership fee to keep the mag going. I would prefer to access it electronically than get paper, it is more environmentally friendly, faster, cheaper and a win win for everybody. Brian indicated that the s/w he uses can create the right output, so how about a trial?

It ought to be relatively simple to do an online version -- basically resample the PDF (which I assume is what the printers use) to reduce the resolution of the photos to keep the file size sensible. (Brian: happy to offer advice about this.)

Ok if by choice, but I'm not looking forward to the day when the majority of magazines go over to online versions. I like to sit in the conservatory with a nice cuppa (or beer/wine) relax and read. The PC screen just isn't the same, and who wants to be printing off pages and pages or go through selecting bits, then printing?
