Help with Airspace issues in your area

Post by John Brady » Fri Mar 13, 2009 11:05 am

Although the LAA currently does a pretty good job dealing with airspace issues, it is very difficult to deal with local issues centrally. We need local knowledge and contacts.

If we are to continue with our present level of effort, we need volunteers who will become involved with the local airport or airspace "owner" so that they know we exist and have an understanding of issues that may effect us

Current airspace change proposals are:

Glasgow CTA - we are well on with that but there may be a second round.
Stansted TMZ - work in progress
Exeter CTR/CTA - Devon strut has a member who is involved with the airport consutation group.
Brize Norton CTR - extended when Lynham closes - help needed
Norwich CTR - proposal under development - help needed
Doncaster CTR/CTA - in place to be reviewed after a year - help needed
Humberside CTR - Consulted once but follow-up needed
Manchester CTR - Awaiting outcome of consultation - help needed
London TCN - Second round about to start - help needed
Aberporth - Danger area for UAVs - help needed

In addition the LAA is considering sponsoring airspace changes to reduce the amount of unnecessary controlled airspace at:
Glasgow
Edinburgh
Liverpool
Manchester

If you think you may be able to help with any of this please get in touch via PM.

Thanks
