It has become VERY appearant to me whilst trying to organise the LAA BB flly-ins that the limited access to the bulliten board is having a very detrimental effect.
Obviously the effect of making people use their real names has had a dramatic effect on the number of posts, you only have to look at the decline over the past few months.
The second effect is more complicated and a bit chicken and egg. The fly-in at Tibernham was very well attendend with probably 50/50 LAA members /non members.
I had EXTREMELY good feedback from both camps, but many non members expressed their delight and supprise that they enjoyed the event so much that they would consider becoming members,( I know of at least one that has done so.) This is bourn out by postings on other forums.
Now the chicken and egg bit ... Lots of interested parties are now contacting me via other forums to discuss the LAA and this is obviously a very good way of recruiting new members.
HOWEVER they cannot post their questions on here, and so I am spending increasing amounts of time on other forums answering their questions and as a result am getting more response to the bb fly-ins from sources other than the BB.
At what point does the LAA bb fly-in cease to become a LAA bb fly-in?
From the response point of view I would be better off not posting on this forum and the LAA are missing out BIG TIME on recruitment.
I urge the powers that be to make it possible for non members to be able to access this website as a matter of urgency or there is no point in persuing the fly-ins.
