December Zoom 'pub' night details ?

Post by mikehallam » Thu Dec 17, 2020 5:10 pm

Hi Steve,

I looked high and low on this forum and on the LAA Home pages too without seeing a squeak of this month's Zoom meeting.
Perhaps you'd kindly refresh and/or make it more accessible please.

mike.

It's probably on Friday 25th at 19:00 . . . . (if anyone is still awake by then)!
Xmas wishes to all - Chris

Thanks Chris,

I suspect in that case it'll be just thee & me, I can't imagine dear Steve conducting our get together on that particular day !
Nonetheless at the Nov. Zoom meeting, where there were over 70 members, he did suggest a date in Decemebr TBA: close to the 25th Dec.AFIR.

Meanwhile, "A Happy Christmas" to all.

Thanks Chris,

That saved a few of my gey hairs falling out !

Now as far as I recall the January 2021 Zoom meeting is next week, Friday the 29th.

I'm checking my e-mail in box regularly so as not to miss the link.
--- Provided poor Steve has any hours left to give us.

Regards,

mike.

I tried and failed to get on the January Pub Night last night. I got the message " maximum number of participants reached, you may be able to join later if someone leaves". What is the maximum allowed, and should it be increased. :(
Cheers

Same with me.
Tried a few more times, but presumably no-one had left to create space.

That's interesting. I noticed that the attendance count on the screen was at 100 for a long period of time. I suspect the Zoom agreement has a limit of 100 which was probably deemed adequate as I don't think we had ever exceeded about 70 previously.

Same for me. Had to keep clicking until someone left. Eventually got in about 19:30.

A victim of it's own success!

We in the Europa Club use Zoom for our own Pub Nights, Tech Talks & AGM. I think it only costs another £4 per month to increase the maximum number of attendees to 300.

Worth considering ?

OK another Pub evening where I cannot get in because the max number are reached. How much does it cost to increase it. I'd have thought it trivial compared to LAA funds. Not impressed.
