If people haven't already seen this elsewhere:
Aviation/Education Conference, 11a.m. March 1 2008 Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey.

Media with an aviation interest are invited to attend. Please pre-book by emailing [email protected] as numbers are limited.

A CONFERENCE aimed at getting young people more involved in the world of aviation is being hosted by Brooklands Museum on March 1 2008.
The event will consist of a series of quickfire presentations by leaders in youth education and enthusiasts with a special motivation to inspire a love of flying and aviation in the young.

The conference will be introduced by Lord Trefgarne, chairman of the Trustees of Brooklands Museum and other speakers will include Alan Twigg of LAA who will talk on youth aviation camps, Colin Hastings representing the Airport Owners and Pilots Association who will present on young aviators flying, Stewart Luck will cover the latest news on the UK Youth Build a Plane Project and Dan Tye of Pilot magazine who will express the view of the media.

Virginia Price, head of education at Brooklands Museum, along with her volunteers will explain how they deal with thousands of young visitors on organised tours each year. The British Gliding Association will tell how they breed world champions while Chris Shaw who represents the Scouting movement that is very involved in aviation will talk about how youngsters are introduced into flying and associated activities.

The day will include opportunities for networking discussions, visiting the Museum displays and the workshop where the AV Roe replica bi-plane is being constructed ready for the Brooklands Museum’s Centenary of Flight Celebrations in June.

Anyone interested in attending should contact Stewart Luck at [email protected].
