Tuesday 14th June 2011
CarolAnn Garratt holds the world record for flying around the world in a Mooney in 8 1/2 days. This record was set in December 2008. She will tell us all about the 18 months of preparation for this flight, and with maps and pictures explain the successes and problems during the flight itself.

CarolAnn will be on a flying visit to MKAS, on her latest east-bound round the world flight highlighting the "Dash for a Cure" for Lou Gehrig's disease, (or ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Motor Neurone Disease). You can follow the progress of her 18 month flight flight at http://www.alsworldflight.com just click on the SPOT icon.

Doors open at 7:00pm for an 8:00pm start at: Kents Hill Community Centre, Frithwood Cresent, Kent's Hill, Milton Keynes, MK7 6HQ.

CarolAnn will also be the guest of honour at the Devon Scout Aerocamp at Belle Vue airfield on 4th & 5th June (a Scout Association event, not run by the Devon Strut or linked in any way to the LAA......)

Met her at SnF this year. Inspirational aviatrix...
