ASI wanted - now sorted thanks
Hi,
I need an ASI with a range to say 140knots. Just thought that I'd ask here before ordering one in case someone has anything surplus and available for sale.
Also interested in other instruments that may be useful for a panel refurb in my Jodel, in particular a vacuum AI and a 2 1/4" VSI if anyone has one?
Anything modern that might be lighter than the existing instruments would be of interest too.
Regards,
Colin

Re: ASI wanted
Dynon D1, which weighs only 7 oz, seems the ideal unit to replace heavy vacuum driven instruments.
Weight saving makes it a very attractive proposition, as my AH setup must weigh around 4-5lb in total (9" venture, AH, filter, vacuum restrictor and tubing!).

Re: ASI wanted
Hi Tony,
yes, I know it makes sense to use the modern electronic instruments and I will probably go that way in the longer term, but I have quite a lot of spending to do to get the aircraft refurbished to the standard I want so this is a compromise solution that can be re-visited later.
For now I would rather prioritise my electronics spending on a new 8.33 Radio and Mode S Transponder as I can update the panel more economically using traditional instruments. I am trying to save weight where I can though. Just swapping the harnesses for the modern ones I recently bought will save 2.5 lbs. compared to the ex-military ones it had.
regards,
Colin
