It is likely the connector is commonly available and in use in non-avionics equipment. If you can figure out the type/manufacturer etc it should be possible to get the crimps from somewhere like Farnell or RS components.
Does the manual indicate the connector type?

it seems to be an obscure item that is not available in the UK. I think that Farnell can get them from the US but they want about £10 + £15 p and p which seems a lot when I only want about 10 tiny terminals which should cost about £1.

The housing is a Molex EDP# 09-50-6125 (Eng#4338-12). The terminal (loose gold plated crimp contact) is a Molex EDP#08-05-0302 (Eng#4366-P55L) good for Gage 20 to 18 (0.5sqmm to 1.0sqmm). To find the datasheets look for www.molex.com <http://www.molex.com/> then you find a search window. Enter the part numbers without a preceding Zero and without a dash i.e. 9506125 for the housings and 8050302 for the terminals. The series is a so called 3.96mm pitch double sided edge connector system"

Digikey in the USA (www.digikey.com) have those connectors (and probably the housings), but they come in a package of 100, $30.33 for that quantity. It is an expensive gold plated part.

Molex UK are based in Farnham, Surrey. It may be worth asking them (or their UK distributors) if they have any in local stock. Alternatively, RS Components do have them but they are part of their "extended" range. Have you tried calling some avionics shops? They may have some in their "box of bits".
I have ordered a similar connector for a similar requirement from Farnell before (extended range) and it only took approx. 7 days to get to me.
