Hi

If anyone in the south east is thinking of getting rid of old PFA/LAA magazines I will gladly take them off your hands.

Regards

Funny, I just came on here to make a similar request.

I am after copies of Popular Flying only(and anything that predated that). Mike can have first pick, but if there are any left over I will take them off your hands.

Mike, should we put in a joint email/letter for the magazine. or perhaps Brian could put in an appeal for us?
Cheers

Hi

Whereabouts are you? I could pick up from Kent or Yorkshire only really.

Mike/Ian,

there has been an exercise going on, led by Stuart MacConnacher I think, to digitise all the old magazines. You may recall adverts looking for certain gaps in the collection.

It seems to be taking a while to come to fruition as it's obviously a lot of work. Perhaps you could all get together on this as an archive with a searchable index would be a tremendous resource. I'd be happy to help if I can.

Brian may reply on this as he has mentioned it before on the forum.

regards,

Colin

Yes this is a project that should have made far more headway but we were badly let down. However, we now have a very good quote from a company we have used before so the first batch of old magazines will hopefully get scanned soon. I'll be up at the later this week so I'll find out exactly where we are with it.

I think it needs to be made clear that we weren't let down by Stuart.

Hi Ian
Pass them on or whatever, they where gathering dust in my barn and only looked at
when someone wanted a special issue. I gave a few to Richard Mole who may help with
your quest.

Thanks Mike, If he does not pop up, I give Richard a call. It was actually Mike Freeman that I was asking if he still wanted the magazines.

There was some good stuff I spotted in those magazines, but did not stop to read in detail.
Cheers
