Wanted - Any tooling for RV7 build
Hi - Before I start splashing out on various tools to commence an RV7 build, I thought I'd test the water here on the off chance anyone is no longer using their tools.
In particular looking for likes of 3x rivet gun; dimpling C frame; 1/8 and 3/32 clecos;
This is my first foray into kit building (though in a former life I used to build airbus A320 wings!). I've spoken with inspectors and a few current RV builders and I'm getting to the point where I can no longer find excuses not to get going!
Many thanks,
Chris

Re: Wanted - Any tooling for RV7 build
Thanks Ian. It's a long shot as imagine most keep their tooling for repairs and/or satisfying the building bug in the future!
I've succumbed to making some new tool purchases to get me started.

I am in the same position as you. Just converting my garage to a aircraft production workshop and am ready to procure tooling.
I've looked at the Isham RV sets but they seem very expensive. Do you have any adivce?
Thanks

Re: Wanted - Any tooling for RV7 build- UPDATE
I have just discovered this company in Devon - LAS Aerospace LTD (formerly known as Light Aircraft Spares)
They do a range of toolkits for various aircraft types and situations including VANS toolkits
https://www.lasaero.com/site/products/c ... =Y03WADOLX
A whole lot cheaper than importing from the US!

If you are looing to buy new tools then I have found http://www.glosterairparts.co.uk/ second to none. Peter has built an RV among other aircraft and is a font of knowledge on aircraft construction. Complete kits or individual tools, the choice is yours.

Re: Wanted - Any tooling for RV7 build
I ended up splashing out for the basic Vans RV tool set from LAS and have since been adding to it as I see fit. It got me started in the right direction and gave me the basics to start playing with on scrap and the tool box!
