The aircraft you describe is the Sindlinger Hurricane

I have no idea if plans are still available I have not found any leads via google.

At least one was being built in the UK and at least 3 were given project numbers PFA 26-10053, 26-10095 & 26-10096. I seem to recall that one project was exported to Australia, The name Brian Winstanley seems to ring a bell as does E. Schouler & C Turner. So there might be a project out there.

Yes, that Italian version looks sweet, doesn't it? (And somehow, I like the idea of a bunch of guys in Sicily building a replica British fighter.) The Sindlinger version was all wood, whereas this kit is metal. The only problem with the Italian version is that it uses, inevitably, a Rotax, so will sound unauthentically like a hairdryer! Whether is ever makes it to these shores is another matter of course...

I agree with you that this looks so much better than the Sindlinger Hurricane - if only I was nearer retirement I would be jumping in feet first!

...than this (in my humble opinion as ex BBMF!).

I do "venture up the road to Hinton" a lot as I kept my Cherokee there for 2 years prior to going into a quarter share in the blue and yellow Condor (G-AVOH). The Cherokee had to go as my wife let her PPL lapse and I was the only one flying her. AVOH is just going through Permit initial issue (following a battery box mod that has taken 18 months to do). Hopefully, I'll see you at the airfield in the Spring (after a quick currency trip with Clive Stainer as I haven't flown in a GA bird since the end of October!).

Stuart is right on the Sindlinger builders, Brian Wistanley completed his in Australia and it is flying there. Earl Shouler registered his project fairly recently I think (within the last couple of years).
But I agree the Italian one does look a lot better, Ive never seen any pictures or mention of this before, it would seem that a wooden one and metal one have flown?

Well see you all at Hinton! I was wondering why Id never seen G-AVOH out of the hangar since I moved to Hinton 18 months ago!

If the Rotax fits, maybe the "Mini Merlin" mentioned in the latest PFA mag would be an option? That'd be nice.
