Wadswick Farm Airstrip Appeal

Post by Mike Mold » Tue Feb 16, 2010 9:22 am

The owner and users of Wadswick Farm Strip are seeking to regularise their position as part of an application to build a hangar by the strip, by seeking a "Certificate of Lawfulness". It may be a bit of a longshot for many aviators as the strip is located at the western extremity of Lyneham airspace, but if anyone has flown in there, or knows anyone who has, before 2000, could they kindly send a copy of the relevant page in their logbook to John Holden at 20 Budbury Place, Bradford on Avon, Wilts., BA15 1QF. It would be much appreciated!

Any scanned and emailed documents could be sent to me at mike dot mold at tiscali.co.uk

"I am very pleased to be able to report that permission has been granted for our new hangar at Wadswick and a Certificate of Lawfulness has been granted for continued use of the strip. Thanks to those who wrote to support us over the Certificate of Lawfulness with their log book details and other information; we have been able to establish continuous use from before 1987.

I would like to say a very heartfelt "thank you" to all those who rallied round to support us. It is great to know that the general aviation community out there will engage to protect one small and insignificant airstrip. But then, those small and insignificant airstrips that grace our landscape are an important component of the hobby for many of us! Anyway, many thanks to all who have taken an interest. John Holden."
