2010 Events with Flying Restrictions known as of May 23rd

Post by FlyOnTrack » Sat May 22, 2010 9:38 am

A very long pdf of 2010 Events with Flying Restrictions known as of May 23rd is now available from hot news on FlyOnTrack. I don't remember this many events in previous years. Well worth a look whether you just want to attend the events or want to avoid the restrictions. These are future events known about on May 23rd 2010. The early part of the Red Arrows display AIC has been curtailed a little, keep an eye out for a NOTAM amending the AIC, announcing the restriction on the day in question, or introducing any new ones. This email from Dave Drake at the CAA:

RED ARROWS STOP PRESS!

Further to the AIC update, please note that AIC M 024/2010 for the first half of the Red Arrows display programme (published on 20 May) is subject to amendment. It is essential to check NOTAMs for confirmation of Reds' displays at the moment as the programme has been curtailed. As a result, early RA(T)s won't be activated by NOTAM, and a NOTAM amending M 024/2010 can be expected very soon.
Expect the first display to be flown on or soon after 13 June, but in the meantime.....
....remember to check NOTAMs!

Yes, I found that wording a little confusing. If he'd left off the final two words of that sentence, I wouldn't have had to read the whole thing twice to understand it!
