It's you who deserves the the thanks John. In fact all those who work behind the scenes for no money and little thanks, deserve recognition. My thanks go to you all.

OK, DSAC Paris, dept. Navigabilite et Aviation Generale have issued notice of an exemption for the fly in at St.Omer for ALL aircraft flying on a current LAA permit to fly from Friday 10th Sept 2010.
They have stated that any aircraft attending will NOT have to pay.

So come on, let's have a good turn out! No need for thanks, show your apreciation by turning up!!!! :D

Gilbert has e mailed me a copy of the letter today, together with a translation. It includes a copy of a previous letter dated July to Roger Hopkinson, in which the DGAC say that factory built aircraft flying on a LAA permit CAN fly in france.
I don't know how to post it here. Gilbert is getting Phillipe to post it on their website.
From this it would seem that it has been OK anyway since late July but that info has not filtered down to us!
Whatever the case we have been assured verbaly and in writing that no one will have to pay to have an exemption for next weekend.
Roger, if you read this post would you please comment.

I sent the copy of the letter to Roger and he agrees with the sentiment that DGAC has now put the exemtion in place. Roger hasn't received this letter from DGAC and naturally cannot post here or on the LAA website until he has hard copy written confirmation from DGAC but it looks to be a goer. All those heading off to St Omer have a great weekend, I hope to be able to come next year.
