Piel Saphir? on ebay

Post by Nigel Hitchman » Mon Aug 08, 2011 11:32 am

Someone found this and asked me what it was, looks like a Piel Saphir to me. Address of the seller is in the Southampton area, but they dont seem to know what it is either! So I guess maybe an estate sale. Maybe a bargain for someone, or maybe overweight, badly constructed and only good for firewood!

anyone know anything about it?

The First Piel Saphir in the UK has recently flown and looks very nice.

All I can add is I would agree with Nigel and since there were two registered Saphir projects in the UK we may have stumbled accross the other.

I suspect the way the title is set up is more to link it into search engines and sectors in the eBay catalogue than an apparent lack of knowledge.

A friend of mine tells me it is PFA 183-11338
apparently built by a Rodney Steele.
The people selling it have had it stored at their place since 2004, they are selling it to recover some of their owed money, if not sold it will be put on the bonfire.

A bit of a shame to see it in that state. However, with no paperwork and 7 years of storage - plus potential ownership issues - is it really worth anything at all?
