Gypsy Moth For Sale

Post by Barry Ward »

Here is a link to an interesting plane to put on the LAA register.
Treat yourself to a Christmas present. Just the thing for those warm summer evening flights.

It will have to be a late Xmas present since the auction is not until Feb 2013. The aircraft has been in the Netherlands for some time. Otherwise it is just a Moth Corporation metal Moth without any real history apart from its participation in the film. If my memory is correct the film company wanted to crash it but Cliff Lovell its owner at the time would not sell it to them for that purpose and went with it an did the flying.

Seems to be very highly priced too!
The aircraft was out of the air from 2004 until 2011, stored in Antwerp for a while, seems to have got a new permit in 2011. Dont think its been restored since 1986ish when it came back from the film and needed a complete re-cover and other repairs.
