Does anyone know what the situation will be with clubs that operate orphaned types?
Other than the concession for single seaters like the Tiger Club's Turbulents, permit restrictions don't allow 'hire or reward' operations.
French clubs don't seem to have a problem hiring out CNRA types (their equivalent of a permit), so could the CAA be persuaded to allow at least some permit types onto club fleets.

Early last year I had a conversation with the CAA regarding an orphaned type. I was told any aircraft that were a National Responsibility (eg Non EASA type - on Annex II) they wanted GA types to be on LAA (PFA) administered permits and ex-military they would administer. I thought this was quite straight forward. However they now appear to have changed their minds.....If the Authority of the State of Design withdraw the TC, or confirm that there is no Type Support, we would expect to issue a letter to owners allowing 3 months for interested individuals to make arrangements for a Type Responsibility Agreement (involving a link to approved DOA) for the continuation of the Certificate of Airworthiness. If anyone then wishes to pursue such an agreement, we would allow a further 9 months to make appropriate (ie approved by us) arrangements. On the other hand, if no interest is identified, we would then consider allowing the aircraft to continue to fly under a Permit to Fly.

Not the first time CAA have faffed about, Austers, Mode S etc
Jodel transfer to permit
Any one know what is the current situation with transfering the jodel fleet onto LAA permit?

Surely D117s & D120s are already permit aircraft along with 112s .

Stuart is completely correct. The CAA letter of January mentioned D117, and D120, as there are some examples of each of these types on CofA. Most are already on PtF but a few remain on CofA. At present there are no examples of the D112 on CofA, all UK examples being on PtF already.
Unfortunately there is an applicant for a TRA for the D150 Mascaret. This will mean that for the time being the three remaining CofA Mascarets will continue on CofA. There are of course approx 20 Mascarets already on PtF and these will continue as they are.
Hopefuly more news on the Jodel situation next week.
