kt-70 Mode S

does any one now if this transponder is the correct Mode s for the UK and europe
as i have a tray fitted already that i should just slide into
it seems much cheaper than all the other units out there

I would guess it is ok as it is TSO'd - best check with CAA Radio Licencing to be sure - depending on your flying requirements (IFR? / certain airspace ) for basic Mode S ( elementary) you don't need data link - that is for enhanced Mode S.
