Has anyone experience of throat microphones?
I understand they work well ( allegedly ) in noisy environments so they might be an option for my open cockpit biplane project, in due course. I already have a couple of ex service leather helmets, but might use a newer helmet and adapt that.
There are Amplivox versions on sale on E Bay that look suitable. Any recommendations appreciated.

The snag with throat mics is they feel like you are being strangled all the time. People often leave them loose and press them against their neck when talking.

I was concerned about that aspect from the beginning Rob but am still thinking of having a go to see if the pros outweigh the cons. I might need three hands to cope with pressing it against my neck when talking?
If I had another seat in the biplane, I could take a Russian along with me and he could squeeze the throat mike tightly around my neck?
