I put my permit renewal form in the post at lunchtime on Monday 9 September.
I get home from work tonight Wednesday 11 September and my new permit is waiting for me.

Absolutely excellent service, thank you.

Now what's the weather like at the weekend?

Alan.

Same excellent service again this year. Thanks folks!

I posted my form yesterday about ten past four, and I received my CofV by email at three o'clock today. That's less than 24hr.

Stunning. Thanks team!!

Another satisfied customer. Form posted after lunch yesterday and CofV received by email at 14:30 today.

Quite remarkable when you consider few staff (if any) are working at the office.

An email arrives back soon enough, but still waiting a week later for the laminated paper copy.

Dear Rob

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 restrictions, the decision was made to change the default setting of 'sending' Certificates of Validity out by email.

When we were working from home(s), it was simply not feasible to laminate and post out 2000+ Certificates of Validity.

LAA Engineering is still working split shifts and the pros of emailing out the Certificates of Validity (speed, efficiency and lack of printing out pages of paperwork that get binned etc) far out weigh the cons. Since this practice began (March 2020) we have revalidated over 3000 Permits to Fly and in that time, probably 20 people have asked for laminated copies.

If you do require a laminated copy, please email a request to LAA Engineering.

PS The FWR-1 Permit to Fly form will be amended to reflect the new default email setting once the current supply runs out.

Another excellent turnaround within 1 day of receipt of my Permit application.
Unfortunately I did not know because that LAA email was in the spam folder of my gmail account for no obvious reason.
I phoned Engineering today and Jerry Parr told me it had already been sent plus sent it again.
Note to self - check your spam folder if your Permit does not arrive very rapidly.
Thanks again for excellent service on the LAA part.

I am not sure that gmail has a 'whitelist' feature, at least not on my ancient ipad, only a 'blacklist'.
What you can do is create a filter for all emails from laa.uk.com and select 'never send to spam'.

Anyway the repeat email arrived without any problem as has many previous LAA emails.

GINFO shows date of permit almost as quickly as the email arrives (or not!) so is an easy check
