4 stroke 3 axis microlight
Seasons greetings everyone.
After much asking around and discussion I thought I would post our question here in the hope that someone can give me a definitive answer to it.
Is it possible to have a 3 axis microlight taildragger that looks like a conventional aeroplane that can use a 4 stroke engine but still be classed as a microlight ?
I see 2 stroke rans, kitfox, avids for sale in the 3 axis category but none seem to have a 4 stroke engine apart from those that fall into the light aircraft category.
Hopefully someone can help.
Cheers.
Skelly.

I've tried really hard Mike, but can't find a Eurostar with a tailwheel.

Re: 4 stroke 3 axis microlight
The Eurofox microlight not only looks like the 'conventional' version but it IS the conventional version, with just a lower MTOW. If I wasn't such a fat b*@tard I'd probably go for the microlight version myselfIs it possible to have a 3 axis microlight taildragger that looks like a conventional aeroplane that can use a 4 stroke engine but still be classed as a microlight ?

Be very careful with the Eurofox Microlight.
A great aircraft, but the weight limitation is real issue.

Re: 4 stroke 3 axis microlight
The OP hasn't stated how many seats are required but here are a few that might work:
Jodel D185
Nicollier HN 800 Week-End II
Fisher Horizon 1
Milholland Cabin Eagle
There are many more but that's a start. All of the above can be powered by 2.0+ litre VW engines and other small four-strokes like the four-cylinder D-Motor or the 5-cylinder Verner radials would also work. All are plansbuilt projects except the Fisher, which is a materials kit with some components though I think you can also just buy the plans.

Re: 4 stroke 3 axis microlight
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the replies.
After some searching and deliberation, I am now the proud owner of a Mk2 Kitfox complete with KFM 112M 4 stroke engine.
Its in many many bits so I just need to figure out how to rebuild it.
I may do a rebuild thread.
Cheers,
Skelly.
