Vortex generators from STOLSPEED

Post by Richard Mole » Fri Oct 25, 2019 7:48 pm

Hi,

has anyone on here fitted vgs from STOLSPEED?
If so, how did they perform?

We fitted Stolspeed vortex generators to our Jabiru 450, very good improvement in stall speed, much more controllable on final approach and in the landing phase, the Jabiru had a tendency to "stop flying" as it approached stall speed at the flare but now a controlled slower flare is the norm. You will have to go through a rigid flight test after fitting but the result is worth the investment.
safe landings

Thank you Trev that is very useful feedback.
I have ordered a kit just in case I may need it.
And sure, any flight testing will need to be disciplined and documented (even on an SSDR)
