Yesterday, Deanland pilots were given the sad news that Chris had died of lung cancer on Saturday.
From the Flyer forum https://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=115487

I only met Chris once in person, but we had some good banter over forums. A sad loss

How very sad. I shall miss his regular and always interesting postings on the Forum. I met him and his very fine VP-1 at Headcorn a couple of years ago where I was surprised to discover over a coffee that, as well as aviation, he also had a love of vintage cars and motor sport. He lent me his programme from the April 1965 VSCC race meeting at Silverstone that I shall now never be able to return to him - a fine souvenir to remember him by.

RIP Chris.
