Limbach L2000 dualmag engine query.
Just a query. Does anyone know how the two mags are driven on Limbach engines? Standard VW conversions often use a triangular chain drive for the mags, but there is no sign of this on my engine. It looks like a gear drive to the two mags, plus a location for a vacuum pump, all covered by a casing on the rear. Can't find any info or a diagram of the set-up.
Many thanks for any info.

Mike, I'd second Richard's idea about giving Ken a call (website: http://www.ukaircraftparts.com/). Ken and I went to the Limbach factory about three years ago, and I think he gathered up parts lists for all their engines while we were there.

Hi Mike,
I'd be inclined to leave well alone unless or until the oil pressure reduces. Since this is a function of oil temperature then it could be worth your while to install a digital combined oil temp and pressure gauge (eg Stratomaster) and then log your readings on a spreadsheet month after month - real nerdy stuff - in order to determine when and if there are any adverse changes.
In my opiniion the analogue gauges, which are a joy to use in normal operation, do not have the precision required for this engineering purpose, although they show gross changes really well.
