The definitive non-controversial thread.

And, I fear, not very interesting, but I felt that members should know that my Permit renewal was turned around in under 24 hours.

My inspector says it was because of his revered status & expertise, but I know it was due to my carefully-saved-for-a-special-occasion smiley bear stamp that formed part of the envelope.

Sending it recorded delivery might have had the effect of pity being taken on those who are trying to fly this summer, but, equally, it could have had the effect of 'Who's she trying to kid? We've got heaps of the things here to look at, you know...'

So it was the LAA that made me fly today, before the rain arrived.

Public thanks where it is due: Engineering and administration, Turweston, yesterday.

8) :D 8) :D :) :D

Now THAT Permit will be celebrated by more than a thank you to the LAA - balloons, cake, marching bands, champagne, the odd flypast, WHY....

Actually, I'm getting quite fond of Temporary Champ.

Well given the amount of 'work' involved there is no reason why a routine permit renewal cannot be turned around the same day. It's good that this is generally happening so that is a great improvment.

However there are many other areas where a little effort could reap major benefits for members - I speak as the owner of an aircraft grounded by the LAA in early November 2008 and still waiting for the fairly simply mods to get it ariworthy again - rather less to boast about there!

I must join in and express my appreciation.

My aircraft has been in bits (like its pilot) for over two years whilst being re-skinned and having a jolly good fettling.
Passed permit inspection last saturday, posted paperwork monday, received at Turweston tuesday and arrived back to me on thursday.
Test flight planned for sunday :)

Great service, much appreciated.

Same applies to LAA shop, which reminds me, I must get a new chart.
