Some one has just picked up ( one day to go) that the new arrivals sent out are wrong.
It would appear that sywell have cut and pasted the same page, thereby making the whole thing a nonsense.

According to Sywell, it was an error, but only relevant if one runway was to be used.
Since both the hard and the grass are available, you can ignore appendices G and H.
Slightly disappointing suggesting this episode is farcical, given the amount of hard work put in by many volunteers to support this event. There are now over 500 aircraft booked in including the Optica, high pressure building for the weekend's weather, 30 exhibitors arriving, a 120'x40' marquee already erected on the short, smooth grass. Sywell have arranged airside access, there's a huge bar, the hotel is booked solid, there's a band and BBQ Saturday night, entry just £5, camping is free, awards for best LAA aircraft in categories, lots of mates turning up and having FUN!
Oh and did I mention the LAA course presentations, the engine clinic, the LAA engineers on hand to answer your queries, membership deals, LAA shop...
Come on down, you may enjoy yourself.

I intend to come Pete, If I can get my plane repaired in time thanks to the b******d that twatted it in Belgium 2 weeks ago !
But that doesn't alter the fact that the approach debacle has been a farce!
Mixing slow / fast traffic, no overtaking, information being posted in advance and then withdrawn because it was not authorised by the CAA, modifications then posted containing errors...Wouldn't you call that a farce?
However I suppose you take the "glass half full" view and say they've made every mistake they can and so its a good learning curve for anyone else attempting a big rally.
I really do hope the weather is ok and its a good do and goes off without incident.
And on a positive note I have planted two trees to replace the small rainforest that I have used printing up all the approach information pages and to allow for the revised one they hope to put out today!

The event has certainly had a large number of U Turns. No airside access, airside access, CAA exemption, no CAA exemption, Slots, but not really, LAA logo what LAA logo. Good job it is not an LAA event or it would have been a PR disaster.
