AFPEX improvements

Post by David Broom » Mon Sep 21, 2009 8:49 am

As some of you will know from postings on other forums, improvements have been made to the AFPEX flight plan system to provide much faster log-in. The PC no longer needs to download the multi-megabyte java application each time it runs so the time for log in has reduced considerably.
I found that I had to log in once to get the revised set up onto my PC and then each subsequent log-in has been near instantaneous. Well done to the AFPEX people for listening to user worries on this one.
Another tip, if you save the initial java thingy ( filename ats.xjnlp.jnlp ) on to your desktop then double clicking on this takes you directly to the AFPEX system without having to power up your web browser, saving a little more time.
Great news for mobile use.

Dave

The only real "gotcha" now, I believe, is that it can take up to 2 weeks to get a username and password - so it's not a good idea to leave it to the last minute for your first jaunt abroad!!!
