It's no more stupid than the pratt in a single engined aircraft who spent thirty minutes droning 'round in circles above Bodmin Moor this afternoon.
Weather was 8/8ths cloud, ceiling about 100 feet and vis less than 1k.
The terrain is very undulating with large tors and a TV mast just to add to the fun. Had the engine stopped the occupants of the plane would very likely been killed.

All very silly.
