LAA Coach Seminar 2013 - February 09th

Post by Cookie » Sat Jan 19, 2013 5:30 pm

The aim of the seminar is to improve the standard of instruction within the LAA Pilot Coaching
Scheme provided by our Class Rating Instructors and Flight Instructors. This is an opportunity for you
to update and refresh your knowledge on the latest changes in legislation and instructional
technique.

The seminar will take place at LAA Head Office, Turweston Aerodrome. The day will begin at 0900hrs
and will include presentations and group discussions throughout the day. Each presentation is timed
to last approximately 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes for questions. It is an interactive
programme and is designed such that all delegates gain the maximum benefit from their time at the
seminar. An open forum is planned for the end of the day with a 1700hrs finish.

Presentations include:

• Jon Cooke, Pilot Coaching Scheme Chairman, with presentations on Single Pilot CRM,
instructing techniques, and Class Rating Instructor privileges;

• Irv Lee will be presenting on behalf of NATS about Airspace Infringement, and also
Mentoring PPLs;

• Mike Grierson, from the UK's specialist in Instructor and Examiner training, On-Track
Aviation, to talk about EASA Part FCL regulations;

• An open forum will be included at the end of the day, with knowledgeable instructors
present to answer questions about legislation and training.

NOTE: This seminar does not count towards EASA requirements for revalidation of your Class Rating
Instructor Rating.

Light lunch and refreshments will be provided during the day. There is no charge to LAA Coaches for
the seminar, although you will appreciate that there is a cost to the association in ensuring adequate
provision of materials and refreshments for the day. Therefore, please book your place at the
seminar direct with Penny Sharpe at LAA Head Office - ADVANCE BOOKING ESSENTIAL.

Many of you have asked for a seminar to update you on recent changes - please show your support
by attending. I look forward to seeing you there!
