Sorry... That's just a cheap trick to grab your attention.
I speak not of anonymity on here , but of a crime far worse . Anonymity in LA's letters page [ isn't that a hanging offence].
Is it only me, or was the lead-letter in October's LA slightly bizarre. And why would anyone fear "reprisals" for simply putting in for a modification to their project ? It's a pity that the contributor didn't give us all more of a clue, as the readership could have then had the opportunity to be a little more objective in its interpretation of the letters content.
I know that modifications can also be a bit of a well worn subject , but do have a grain of sympathy for the chaps that have to assess them . Especially when it's the "I want to saw 8" off each wing of my Taylor Monoplane and fit an I-O540 as my own version of a Harmon Rocket" type of mod.
Alternatively, if the contributor sent in a normal account of his plight to the letters page with his name et al and not had it printed , he could have always put it on here and brought it to peoples attention.
But all he's done is teased us by giving no info at all and then stuck the knife into the hierarchy by telling them what rotters they all are.
Anyone submitting a mod. unless it's an extremely straight-forward one can expect to wait a fair amount of time , and as an LAE myself am happy to attest to the fact that aircraft manufacturers are actually quite good at designing aeroplanes, and if you think that the LAA are bad, try getting a mod. past the CAA , as even trivia like re-wording a decal can be construed as a major mod. in certain cases.
Also , the bit about Francis being out knocking up new types in his log book [when he should be working tut..tut ] is a bit of an old chestnut too isn't it ? It's a bit personal and a bit unnecessary . OK I'm a tad envious too sometimes , but that's what the mag's for innit ? and it beats the hell out of the Cessna vs Warrior diet of some other mags .
So....Mr Anonymous, come on . Share it or shut it, people might just be sympathetic if they knew what you were harrumphing [to yourself] about !

Hi Chris
I think 'Anon' wanted to make sure that his 'Mod' was not affected by his dig at Francis. I bet they know who he/she is
Not that Engineering would stoop so low as to target a member for daring the complain.
There does still seem to be an issue with Engineering workload as was brought up at the Q&A session at the AGM. If FD is away or unavailable, everything seems to grind to a halt.
