LAA Class Rating Instructor Seminar - 20th September 2014

The Light Aircraft Association will again be welcoming instructors to it's annual LAA Class Rating Instructor seminar. Scheduled as an annual event for LAA coaches, the seminar is provided as an opportunity to refresh and update their knowledge through presentations on the latest changes in legislation and instructional technique. This is the only seminar of it's kind in the UK to be aimed at the Class Rating Instructor, a role which was introduced under JAR-FCL and is set to continue under EASA. The CRI is extensively used by the LAA with all coaches holding either a EASA Class Rating Instructor or Flight Instructor certificate. An invitation is extended to any Class Rating Instructor to attend alongside LAA Coaches.

Whilst a seminar is not required for Class Rating Instructors, the LAA has found significant benefit in discussing topics with coaches which enhance instructor knowledge and instructional technique.

Presentations during the day from:

* Jon Cooke, Pilot Coaching Scheme Chairman, Senior Examiner and Flight Instructor Examiner;

* Jonathan Smith presenting on behalf of NATS;

* Irvin Lee, Flight Examiner;

* David Jones, Senior Examiner and Flight Instructor Examiner;

* An open forum is included at the end of the day with knowledgeable instructors present to answer questions about legislation and training.

The Pilot Coaching Scheme will be holding it's annual Class Rating Instructor seminar at Turweston on Saturday 20th September 2014. As in previous years, an invitation is extended to any EASA Class Rating Instructor to attend, with the intent of improving knowledge and instructional standards throughout the UK. For non-coaches, a fee of £75 is payable to attend the one-day seminar, with tea or coffee and light lunch included.

Limited places are available. Book your place now by contacting Penny at the Light Aircraft Association on 01280 846 786. ADVANCE BOOKING ESSENTIAL.

I look forward to seeing you there!

I've just qualified as a CRI and I'm keen to learn as much as I can. However, I can't go to the seminar as I'll be working abroad at the time. Will any of the presentation material be available online or any other means?

Material from the seminar will be made available to attendees only. I run the seminar annually for LAA coaches and often invite other CRIs to attend; dates are normally announced a few months in advance.

There is a LAA Pilot Refresher iBook available free of charge for you to download which contains a lot of relevant information:

I look forward to seeing you at the next seminar.
