Good Deals!

Post by PennySharpe »

If you know of a particularly good deal that fellow members may benefit from, please use this thread to tell them about it.

To start it off, here's an upcoming deal from Aldi, the supermarket chain.

From tomorrow, March 5, they will be selling a 3hp, V-twin compressor with a 50 litre tank for just £169.99.
A range of air tools and accessories is also available, including an air filter/regulator/lubricator for £14.99 and a reel of suitable air hose. Aldi has a 'when it's gone it's gone' business model so if you are interested then get down to Aldi as soon as you can tomorrow because this won't be a regular stock item.

See link for details: https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thur-5-mar/

Thanks Penny a good idea.
I managed to visit the loac Aldi and picked up a windy ratchet and a reeled hose. I had most of the other tools they had in stock.

Cheers

Plumbing for pitot-static.

B&Q sell clear plastic tube, in various sizes, together with T-pieces, right angle bends and in-line joiners. We used these to refitt he plumbling on an RV (I think we used the 5mm size).

My best supplier with know-how, & who have also been very supportive to many folk over the years, is ConAir for Rotax parts.

I had mysterious loss of charge & eventually found the rectifier/regulator was in doubt.
The correct Rotax parts are hard to find at short notice from other than risking the official Agent, so I looked up the web site of the old agency, Conair. Not only did it show they carry the correct Ducati unit in stock but at a very sensible price, which they despatched forthwith.

Good wx & strip last Friday allowed a flight & I'm delighted charging is back to normal.

Conair proved to be the right supplier - despite the Rotax new engine business being gifted away.
Luckily for me they're willing and so far able to support our kind of ownership.

I can heartily recommend their service with a smile.

For anyone after a PLB the McMurdo Fastfind 220 was £175 with these guys http://www.marinesuperstore.com
Rather than over £220 with the aviation suppliers!

For those building a wooden aircraft, or contemplating doing so, B&Q have a speciall offer on compound angle saw bench on tubular legs - £130. It even has a dust collection bag.
