Re: Gaining my tailwheel conversion in a friends aircraft.
Hi Storkeye, I suspect this is quite straight forward, as the CAA have recently changed the rules* on commercial operation and self-fly hire for Permit Aircraft. Whether paying your friend for fuel and engine fund actually counts as commercial is debatable anyway. The vital bit is that your friendly...

Insurance problem resolved
For those following this saga, I've just had confirmation back from the LAA that their insurers are happy with the following form of words to cover the contentious part of the previously mentioned document: Endorsement Wording It is hereby noted and agreed that the Light Aircraft Association Ltd and...

The Insurance Position
As those who frequent the Flyer Forum will know, we had Insurance problems at Sywell. I’ve contacted my insurers to see if there is a way of dealing with the rather sweeping requirements of Indemnity Agreement (Annex 2 to the Third Party Passenger Flying at LLA Member Club Flying Events). http://www...

Re: Flying Young Carers
Relayed from the Flyer Forum, as MikeB is having problems with this one. Weather looking good, if misty early on. With the forecast headwind I'd better set off this afternoon, given my leisurely rate of progress from East Sussex... Look forward to meet up with everyone tomorrow. Safe Flying, Richard...

Re: Flying Young Carers
As ChampChump suggests, the Flyer Forum has a number of LAA folks as regular readers / contributors.
I'm just checking my insurance and will help out if possible.

Comfortable on the radio?
Interesting to see the amount and direction of responses on different forums. I suspect the idea of bringing up the latest safety and infringement issues at BFR is very good. There has always been the problem of reaching pilots (the majority?) who don’t do CAA Safety Evenings, GASCo/AAIB visits or N...

An Excellent Day
An excellent day for those of us who flew in, enjoyed the food and sat in the sun watching the aeronautical world go by. It seemed that everyone who hadn't gone to Sun & Fun had come to the fly-in.
Thanks to John and the folks at Sackville Farm for a great day out.

Ostende Class D zone transit.
Hi Mike, ChampChump is at work, so I'll try and answer the question. The advice has always been that if you talk to them before you set off, you can get through without a transponder. If you are travelling with a group of aircraft, they will often ask everyone except the 'leader' of the formation to...
